Flashback Friday

As a Stampin' Up Demo, and my own best customer, I love getting new things. There is nothing like Mr. Brown arriving with those fantastic cardboard boxes full of goodies! Each new edition of the SU! catty sparks a Wish List a mile long, accompanied by a deep sigh from my hubby. With the arrival of new stamp sets, the oldies but goodies get pushed deeper and deeper back in my shelves, rarely to be inked again. Well, I've decided to dig out some of those older, retired sets and give them another look. So each Friday, I will post a "Flashback Friday" card, created with random retired SU! items, be it stamps, colors of paper and ink, or accessories. I encourage all of you to take a look at some of the items you own and haven't used in a long time.... rekindle that love you once had and make it new again! You can even post a link to your creations in the comments section to share your inspiration. So, here is the first edition of "Flashback Friday"....
I stamped a couple extra flowers, colored them in, cut them out and "popped" them up just to add a little dimension to the card.

Enjoy Color Inspiration

I'm playing along with Kristina again this week; this color combo was a little tough, but I think I pulled it off well. Her inspiration teamed up Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, Orchid Opulence, Whisper White and Basic Black. This is a great little Spring card.... Enjoy!Supplies:
Pumpkin Pie textured, Orchid Opulence, Whisper White, Rose Red Cardstock
Rose Red Patterned paper
Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie classic ink
Boho Blossoms, 3/4" and 1/2" circle punches
"Enjoy Every Moment" stamp set

Speaking of enjoying the little things.....
We had a great Easter with G'ma and Papa. The boys love going to their house, despite having to be constantly reminded that the lovely little items on G'ma's shelves are only "decoration". The weather was great and we spent a lot of the weekend outside. On Saturday we colored eggs so we'd be all ready for the Easter Bunny. The boys had lots of fun and in the end, their fingers were more colored than the eggs. It was kind of neat to realize that I colored eggs in those exact coffee cups more than 30 years ago......
The highlight of the weekend? As we were packing up to head out, making our final potty trips and loading up, the boys convinced G'ma and Papa that they should stay for a few more days. Jake is brilliant.... what can I say. So they are still in AZ, keeping those retired folks on their toes I imagine. Meanwhile I've been sleeping in, outlet shopping and stamping away in my craft room. Thank you, Easter Bunny!

A Little Inspiration....

I've mentioned before that I really like the work of kwerner.... She has recently posted a Color Inspiration Challenge, so I thought I'd play along.
