Post Thanksgiving Post

Well, Thanksgiving is over.... the kitchen is finally cleaned up and I can once again button my pants... whew! It was a great holiday here at the Crafty Corner. My parents joined us and we had a pretty traditional menu. Here's what we enjoyed:

Roasted Turkey (Brined and roasted per Alton Brown's recipe)
Smoked Ham (Hubby's secret recipe)
Mashed Potatoes
Traditional Stuffing
Gluten Free, Dairy Free Stuffing (made from Udi's bread)
Sweet Potatoes with mini marshmallows (wouldn't be Thanksgiving for my Dad without them)
Green Bean Casserole (you know the one... recipe from the French's onion tub)
Cranberry Sauce
Cafe' Salad (my name for spinach, goat cheese, dried cranberries and candied pecans)
Gluten Free, Dairy Free Pumpkin Pie
Gluten Free, Dairy Free Apple Crisp
Washed down with Lucas & Lewellen Rose' of Pinot Noir (and sparkling cider, oh and Coors Light.... nothing says Thanksgiving like the Silver Bullet, right?)

If making this all come together in the kitchen wasn't crafty enough, I added a little touch to the table settings. I stamped a leaf with fall colors, cut it out and added it to a tie of copper ribbon around our napkins. Simple, but a nice addition to the table. My kids didn't know what to do with cloth napkins. Hmmm, maybe I should get them out once in a while....

So now that Turkey Day is a fond memory, it's full force Christmas... the most wonderful time of the year! I am adding items to my Etsy shop, designed to help add a special touch to your holiday gift giving. Hop on over and check out what I've got... and just for my blog readers I have a discount coupon code! Enter GIFTTAG10 at checkout and you'll get 10% off your purchase... don't ya love a bargain after Thanksgiving!

Christmas Gift Tags

Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week?! I am beginning to get ready for it.... I've got the turkey so that's a start, right? Traditionally, my mom and I hit the stores the day after for those Black Friday bargains. Sometimes we really shop and sometimes we just enjoy the hustle and bustle together. In preparation for the gifts I may have to wrap for Christmas, I made some cute little tags.

These tags are so fun to mass produce and can easily vary with just a quick change of paper and ribbon. In themselves, they make a great gift for a friend preparing for the holidays, too!

So next on my list is to finalize my Thanksgiving menu and come up with some sort of festive table setting for the holiday. Check back soon for any crafty creations that may pop up.... Enjoy!

Gift Card Holder

Happy Weekend! It's a great day here at the Crafty Corner.... today hubby and I are celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband! Last night I kicked the weekend off crafting with friends. We made a few projects to kick off the holiday season..... lots of fun! One of the projects we made was this gift card holder. I designed it for Christmas, but with a quick change of cardstock and patterned paper, it could easily adapt for any holiday or occassion.

I think gift card holders are great for the holidays. And making your own adds a special touch, don't you agree? I have some more projects to post in the upcoming days, including my first ever tutorial.... I am so excited to share! Check back soon and have a great weekend!
