Another Valentine's Tutorial

The "Sweetest Day" is getting close.... have you created your Valentine something special yet?  Here is a tutorial I did for CutCardStock.  This is just a simple way to add your own special touch to some Valentine treats.  My hubby loves chocolate covered cherries, so these were just for him!  That's right, they WERE just for him.  This sweet little gift didn't last until February 14th... they were gone as soon as the photo shoot was over.  Guess I'll have to come up with something else for his real Valentine.  Just click on the picture to check out the tutorial......Enjoy!

Valentine's Day Card and Tutorial

Around my house, Valentine's Day is more like Valentine's Week.  I love to spoil my husband and my boys with love notes and special treats leading up to the actual Valentine's Day.  Typically I create a special meal and give them some sweet treats.  But I'm kind of a sappy gal anyway, so there's no reason to wait until a holiday to say "I love you" or send a love note.  Here's a card I created and if you'd like to check out the tutorial, click on the picture and head over to the CutCardStock blog to see what I did.

Playing with new goodies!

Hi Everyone!  Can I just say, it has been a very productive weekend for me here at the Crafty Corner.  They boys were off on a little campout at the lake so I had the entire house to myself.  I decided to jump right in and give my Crafty Corner a new year makeover.  I reorganized all of my stuff and did a lot of purging.  It feels good now that it's done... I can see what I have and I know it's all stuff I want to work with.  The goods that I cleared out take up and entire counter upstairs, but I plan to have a little crafty rummage sale for a couple hours next weekend and then I think I will donate what's left over.
So once the dust settled and I was rested up from all that hard work, I went straight to working with some of my new PaperTreyInk stamps.  I was even able to break out my sewing machine.... haven't been able to do that in a long time because I couldn't ever find room for it to be out.  Here is a little set of 3 notecards I whipped up....

I thought these would be great to slip in as little surprise love notes near Valentine's Day.  The PTI stamps are so great to work with and I love these fonts!  The patterned paper is from the Bo Bunny Crush 6 x 6 pad.  Enjoy!

Happy New Year!

I hope the start of 2011 has been a great one for all of you!  Here at the Crafty Corner I have been getting back in the swing of things from having some nice time off over the holiday.  The kids are back in the school and I was back to work this week, but it hasn't kept me from playing around in my craft room.  As I do every new year, I have been spending some time reorganizing and purging through some supplies.  Out with the old and in with the new, right?  I have even taken that approach with the appearance of my blog.  I am playing around with it, and it's still work in progress.  I'm not sure where I am going with it, but I was ready for a change so I am having some fun.

Looking forward to our next upcoming holiday.... Valentine's Day!  I made some little tags to post in my Etsy shop, so I thought I'd share them here.  These are tags cut from my Sizzix die, from Kraft cardstock.  I stamped the French background in Crumb Cake ink and then added some black polka dots.  The heart is cut from Red Lacquer metallic cardstock and just add a little pop!
