Inspiration

Good Evening and thanks for stopping by my blog. I tell you, I am on fire since coming home from convention. I have been spending lots of time in my stamp room and time with a notebook trying to get all the fantastic tips and ideas out of my head and onto paper. It feels good to be fired up for paper crafting and sharing what I love with others. One person who has a great deal to do with the inspiration I am feeling is Kimberly Van Diepen. She earned the honor of being named the #7 SU! demo of the year.... Wow! She did this despite having moved several times in the last few years, having to rebuild her business each time. I enjoyed being there to celebrate her accomplishments and to get some great words of advice from her. She is a straight-shooter and tells it like it is, yet she is so genuine and has a real passion for what she does. I think she really represents what Stampin' Up is all about. So, thank you Kimberly!

I created this card to send her way and I thought I'd share with all of you as well. This card uses one of the new sets, "Inspired by Nature." I love the silhouette collection that SU! offers us.... gorgeous images to work with. I paired the image up with the Stampin' Up! Statement of the Heart stamp... a perfect match for this card. I kept the image soft by using a great resist technique - stamp your image on glossy cardstock in Versamark, then brayer over it with the ink of your choice. In this case, I used Always Artichoke. The classic ink slightly resists the Versamark ink, leaving a very soft, subtle image. I stamped the Statement of the Heart in Craft White. Enjoy!
