Gettin' Sketchy

I'm back and participating in a sketch challenge from My Favorite Things. With the new year, one of my goals is to post more regularly on my own blog, in addition to all my work over on the CutCardStock blog. So I hope you'll join me....
This week I'm killing to birds with one stone, so to speak. I'm participating in the challenge and creating the hubster a birthday card as we're celebrating his special day this week!
This is the sketch for the week, and here's my take on it:
Ambers Crafty Corner
I started with a Neenah Desert Storm card base, embossed with a woodgrain stamp. Then layered on my elements to create my take on the sketch. I love the deer -- it's punched with an EK Success punch and then covered in glossy accents. This is as close as we'll get to having a deer head on the wall around this house!

I think he'll love the card and it's gotten my wheels spinning, so I'm in the mood to create Valentine's Day cards for some special people. Maybe I'll even use this sketch as inspiration for more cards!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy crafting!
